Students in this major acquire advanced-level skills in the ancient language of their choice, and also study other areas of classical civilization. They also complete a senior project. Students are required to have a 2.5 GPA in all departmental courses and a 2.0 GPA in their other courses.
The Greek option in this major is a particularly strong combination with work in Philosophy or with interests in Byzantine studies. Students planning to pursue careers as high school Latin teachers may wish to combine the Latin option in this degree with a minor in secondary education, or to gain additional school experience through our internship program.
